The residential conveyancing team at Stockport solicitors, Gorvins, has seen a 35% increase in turnover and completions over the past six months, compared to the same period last year.
The current figures equate to the number of transactions being completed by the team pre-recession, and the rate of growth shows no sign of slowing down.
Key Facts
- The residential conveyancing team at Gorvins has seen a 35% increase in completions over the past six months
- The team has averaged 100 completions per month since June
- House prices in the North West fell by 2.4% between July and September
- Despite falling house prices, buyers and sellers in the area are becoming more confident
Due to the decrease in mortgage funds from lenders, the housing market has been subdued over the past year, with house prices remaining fairly constant. The data sets of UK house prices are updated every three months and in September 2011, it was revealed that the average house price had fallen by 0.7%. This drop was less than in the North West, where house prices between July and September fell by 2.4%.
These falling house prices have had little impact on Gorvins' transactions however, with the number rising steadily throughout 2011, and the team averaging 100 completions per month since June.

Once you have made or recieved an offer, the key is to ensure that the transaction proceeds quickly and smoothly, which is where Gorvins commitment to delivering high quality service has come into its own and helped so many of our clients to complete their transactions in the last few months
